Holiday PhotographyHoliday photography is one way of getting good family pictures. We can capture expressions of joy, happiness and family bond. It can also have some photographs of tiresome or boring facial expressions, which, over period of time become priceless collection and life long memory.
Little bit of planning is required in holiday photography. A good SLR or DSLR camera with 28-150 mm zoom lens is ideal, however, it is not a must. Even good EVIL or compact camera can also be used on a trip and holiday. Important factors in holiday photography are good battery with longer life, or keep some spare batteries. We will also need extra memory cards. 16 or 32 GB cards can store good number of pictures, however, number of photographs will depend on what file size and picture quality we shoot. Preference should be given to largest file size in best picture quality mode. Buy some extra memory cards, if required.
Check the camera's self timer mode or we have to request some stranger to click a picture. A small portable light weight tripod is a handy tool to set a camera in position, when we have to use self timer. Holiday photography can be of family members and children, doing various activities. If we are visiting some historical place, then the genre shifts towards architectural photography. At most of historical places, photography is allowed for non commercial and personal collection, however, we have to buy a camera ticket. Few places are restricted for photography, and at other place, they may not allow photography with flash light. Some monuments and palaces allow photography, but photograph has to be without any person in it. Different places have different terms so check it at the location. Holiday photography should not be restricted only at location. We can capture the preparation of the trip, packing and route to final destination. Also take some pictures at breaks in the journey. When we take insurance for the trip, camera and other accessories are covered for theft and accidental damages. This insurance is not a must for the trip but it is always better to get one, so that we can be secured on holiday photography.
